FOR THE LAST 44 YEARS...
Welcome to the Bengali Association of Pittsburgh (BAP)- serving Pittsburgh and the greater Pittsburgh Bengali community for the last 44 years- established in 1981 and catering to the ethnic bengali crowd from all over the globe. We have been the one and only organisation in Pittsburgh and greater Pittsburgh area and have been promoting not only bengali culture and heritage but have been working hard to give back to the local communities in all ways possible... to the city who accepted us with open arms, and helped us make this into our "Home".

Additionally, BAP organizes cultural programs with invites renowned singers, poets, movie directors and other Bengali cultural luminaries from India and the USA. We strive to promote the awareness of Bengali culture and ethos through various cultural events such as traditional musical and dance programs and stage performances.
What is our social involvement?
BAP strives to connect and give back to the local community. In the past 44 years, we organized blood and bone marrow donation camps, raised money for the Special Olympics Allegheny County, collected toys for US Marine Corps Toys for Tots charity, organized benefit concert for cancer awareness and donated back to the community to fight cancer, hosted shoe drive for Soles4Souls and a non‐ perishable food collection drive for the Greater Pittsburgh Food Bank. We have also physically volunteered in various charitable organisations giving in voluntary hours to help people in our community whenever needed. This year, we will continue BAP's tradition of giving back to the community by organising many more voluntary community events and will partner with the local charities.
Our Demographics (At‐a‐Glance)
BAP has around 200 regular voting members. In addition many more families and individuals participate in our annual events throughout the year. Altogether we estimate that around 240 families are directly involved with BAP in various ways. Students from various local and neighboring universities are also actively involved with us.
